M-POWER 2016, by The Marketing Forum of T.A. Pai Management Institute, hosted its inaugural ceremony on 5th of November. The theme for this year is – Future of FMCG: Technology Infusion and Proliferation.
The MC for the event welcomed the guests, followed by the Invocation Vandana to invoke the blessings of the almighty. Prof. Jayanthi Thanigan, Associate Professor, welcomed the students and guests to initiate the lamp lighting ceremony. She continued and briefed about the events to the students such as Effulgence, Symposium, Market Kshetra and Adjuxta.
Professor Simon George, Dean-Academics graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He opened by stating that an M-POWER Event of this proportion is a dream come true. He explained that the aim in future is to cover all the trends, dynamics and changes in the FMCG sector. He further explained the factors in FMCG marketing such as the role played by technology and equipment in marketing, the product angle as well as how customers nowadays want experience. He quoted “People nowadays don’t believe in ‘seeing is believing’ but ‘doing is believing’.” He went on to officially open the conclave.
Among the esteemed guests were Mr. Sudhir Naik from Berger Paints, Mr. Shishir Mishra from Kohinoor Foods, Mr. Amit Shanbag from Mondelez, Mr. Aditya Ahuja of PepsiCo India, Mr. Nitesh Kotian of Brittania Industries Ltd., Mr. Sanjeev Marya of Coca-Cola and Mr. Ganesh Ramaswamy from Himalaya Drug Company.
