Alumnus of the Month (September 2011)

Mr. David Mathew (PGDM 1999-2001)

     The Alumni Affairs Committee (AAC) is pleased to announce Mr. David C Mathew (PGDM 1999-01) as the Alumnus of the Month (AoM) for September 2011.

     Mr David is currently the Head of Service Delivery- Professional Services Division-(Karnataka, Kerala, Goa) at Wipro Infotech Ltd. He has been with Wipro in various roles for more than 10 years now.

     Mr. David is a Bio-Medical Engineer from Govt Model Engineering College, Kochi. After his graduation from TAPMI in 2001, he joined Wipro-Net as a Sr. Marketing Executive in the midst of the dot-com bubble burst. Since then, he has held the positions of Account Manager, Regional Manager – Platforms and Regional Business Manager – Corporate Relations Group at Wipro Infotech Ltd. Currently, as the Head of Service Delivery, he is managing a team size of around 2000.

     Mr. David has been involved in driving large, multi-year transformational engagements and is adept at contract negotiation and executing complex multi-year contracts. He has been involved in helping Wipro secure several huge long term contracts, one of which was worth more than Rs 1000 crore over 10 years. He was part of the team that was awarded the Joint CEO Award and the Wipro Infotech Solitaire award for the Best Outsourcing Deal of 2009-2010.

     His memories at TAPMI include active participation in Episode, BrandScan and Speed. He was also the Head of the Welfare Committee and remembers all the arrangements he made for various festivals. He was well known in his batch for his movie reviews and ratings, which was pasted on his cupboard door and was referred by his friends before watching movies.

     On a personal front, he is an occasional reader – biographies and management books being his favorite. He loves spending time with his family and is also an active member of the Church and contributes to the welfare activities of the Church in his free time.
