Cognizant Road Ahead Program 2010 at TAPMI

Cognizant Technology Solutions conducted its “Road Ahead” program on the 13th of August 2010 as a part of the Campus relations program with TAPMI. The session was driven by Mr. Avinash Bhat, Consultant at the Cognizant Business Consulting Group and an alumnus of TAPMI, class of 2004.  Cognizant is a leading provider of Information Technology, Consulting and Business Process outsourcing solutions.

The session was based on the lines of providing industry insights as well as the different business models on which Cognizant provides services to its ever growing list of clients. It was a good initiative to understand the existing business models adopted in the Information Technology sector and in specific the innovative approach that Cognizant has towards its clients. The presentation covered all the business verticals at Cognizant, various offshore models, delivery processes and quality management to name a few.

The industry expectations and requirements with regards to a business graduate were also lucidly put forth in the discussion. The session was infused with an exercise which stimulated discussions about personality traits that one has to cultivate to scale up the ladder, both in terms of professional and personal spheres. The different types of subjective and objective mix of decisions that one should make up about their career choice were also discussed. The session ended with queries from the student’s side.

As a whole, it was a wonderful experience for the entire PGP 2010-12 batch to be a part of this enriching and informative experience.
