Student Admission Guidance 2010

For the first time, the students of TAPMI have initiated “Student Admission Guidance 2010”, to guide shortlisted applicants through the GD/PI and admission process.

With the encouragement from faculty and staff of TAPMI, this initiative is entirely driven by students in an effort to reach out to the prospective students. Our aim is to guide the shortlisted applicants by answering queries related to admission for the regular PGDM and the three new courses : PGDM-International Business, PGDM-Banking & Financial Services & PGDM-Healthcare Management.

This program would also provide first-hand information to the applicants who have been shortlisted for the GD/PI process. Since applicants get a chance to interact directly with one of the current batch students, we believe that this would ensure a smooth admission process for every shortlisted applicant.

Once registered for the Guidance program, Student Guides would be assigned in a phased manner to each applicant after verification.

  1. I appreciate and commend the initiative. I recall the years 1999-2003 when I was Chairman-Admissions when we took several new steps to bring in a fool-proof mechanism in Admissions. TAPMI scaled higher and higher in number of applications received year after year touching the all-time high of 10,000 in 2003. I wish that more and more Alumni would associate with the GD/PI panels at Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Manipal too. TAPMI has a wonderful tradition of transparent admission process which is unique to itself among India’s B-Schools. It involves Faculty Members, Industry Professionals and Alumni in the Panels for selecting its students.

    Current students also joining the process strengthens the system. Possibly, a set of FAQs (other than already available in the website) could be generated as a standard information on the Admissions – 2010. Mainly, we need to disseminate the new initiatives in the new set up (including the new Campus and new Director).

    Queries on number of seats, cut off points, placements and life at TAPMI are always well taken care of. More information should be flowing from the present batch on individual experiences on campus, the learning process, the innovative curriculum, the academic freedom, the students body working, the committee system of governance, and so on. Students are the real Brand Ambassadors of TAPMI. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.
